Here is a cute craft that the kids and I put together. We found it in a cute book that Jesse decided to check out of the library. It's called "Crafts For Halloween". If you have this at your library check it out it's simple and cute and has very understandable directions for little kids.
We ventured away from the book a little and added our own little twists to it.
Our List of supplies includes:
- Clothes Pin
- Paint Brush
- Orange Paint
- Black and White Scrap Card stock
- Googly Eyes
- Creative Memories Circle Punch
- Tin Can
- Hot Glue Gun
- Popsicle Sticks
- "Crafts For Halloween" Book
1st Hot glue the Popsicle sticks to the can. Be careful not to overlap them at the bottom it will make your can wobble if they are not even at the bottom.
2nd Punch the white card stock with the large circle punch, then punch the black card stock with the smaller circle punch. Glue together the card stock circles with the Googly eyes on top.
3rd Paint the clothes pin orange for the owl's beak. After dry, glue onto the side of the can with the pincher part of the clothes pin pointing up.
4th Glue on the eyes right next to the beak.
5th break about 5 Popsicles in half and glue in a row on the side of the can for the wings. Then break 4 more in half and do a layered row. Then you can add 3. We trimmed the broken ends with scissors.
You can now add a little note. We hold our pencils in ours so we made a pencil note. And since it's Halloween we made a Happy Halloween note too.
Hope you enjoy!
