Happy Halloween!

Happy Halloween

In today's post I thought I would just share some of the highlights of our Halloween this year.

Of course one of our favorite things was all the Halloween movies we watched. Our favorites were "Nightmare Before Christmas" and "Its the Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown!"

These were our favorites for this year.  I am sure they will change over the years as our children get older.

One of my favorite things to do for the holidays is DECORATE!  Here are some of my favorite decorations.

The Jack Skellington Jack o Lantern that my Husband and the kids made.

The set up on the porch I thought was very adorable this year.
We made this pumpkin last year with a crafting pumpkin.  I hope to add to this next year. With a "Welcome To" pumpkin to place on top.

To kick off our Fall/Halloween Season we went to Mike's Farm.   This is one of our FAVORITE holiday spots.  They have an AWESOME restaurant with a family style meal that will leave you stuffed.  They have a great hayride with great looking tractors, different shows and a petting zoo. During the fall they have all kinds of different activities from school tours to a haunted hayride.  This year we did a school tour with a group of our home school friends.  We take a hayride to their small pumpkin patch to pick out a pumpkin then we go back to see a demonstration of how thing were done on the farm in the days of old.  You learn how apple cider is made and get a free taste of some home made cider.  And then they have the cutest Magic Show this side of the Crystal Coast.  It was a great day for learning in the fall with our little ones.

We also LOVED checking out Halloween books from the Library.  Here were our favorites

I saw a real cool post on Pinterest of a Halloween manicure.  So I messaged my dear friend Jen who used to do nails, because I'm frightfully terrible with doing my own, she agreed to try out the style on me.  She did a great job!

Last but not least I think one of the coolest things that I made this year was Cecily's Costume.  Since she is only 2 it was very easy to convince her to be spider girl.  We already have two Spiderman costumes and all I would have to add to her costume would be a toole skirt which turned out GREAT.  Click here to learn how I made Cecily's skirt.

Well I hope you and you family had a very Happy Halloween!  Today we are resting and filling up on candy.  And will be getting ready for our next Holiday... THANKSGIVING!
