Thanksgiving Indian Vest

So we had a Thanksgiving party at the beginning of this month and we made some Indian Vests out of paper bags.  These can become so complicated to make on your own but I found some simple instruction online.  So here I am passing them on.

You will need :
   - A Lg. Paper Bag - If you are having trouble finding paper bags try the older grocery stores.  Down here in the south we have Piggly Wiggly and that is where I found mine.  I believe they sold them to me for only .10 each so I got 10 for $1
   - Scissors
   - Markers
   - Feathers
   - Glue
   - Stickers
   - Anything you want to decorate you Indian Vest with
1st turn the bag upside down and find the triangle on the bottom.

Cut the a little "V" out of the triangle

And your bag should look like this at this point.

Fold the bag and put it back on the table.

Cut a line down the center for the front opening.

Fold in half

Cut out a semicircle at the top.

Then add fringe to the sleeves and the bottom.

And to give it a worn leather look crumple it up and then uncrumple it.

Now your vest is ready for some embellishments!

This is the one my 2yr old made. They really had the best time with this and we actually add to it every now and then.  On Thanksgiving day we dress up and eat our Thanksgiving meal in our hand made Indian costume.
