Honored Dinner Guest Night

Honored Dinner Guest Night

Every once in a while I'll let the kids invite a little friend to the dinner table.  I have the kids prepare them a "special meal" and set their places at the table.  Then we sit down and eat with them.  The kiddos LOVE this and think it's awesome that their night time and playtime buddies get to have some dinner time with them.  They feed them, talk to them, ask them how their meal is.  It's so much fun to watch!  This is a must do when you have little toddlers!  Their imagination is wonderfully entertaining.
"Here is my Baby"                           " Here baby do you want some drink?"

Jesse love his honored guest he made him a hamburger with a soda.

Valentines Box

This project was so much fun and I plan on making more for lil man's preschool class.

What you need:
    - A cereal box
    - Fun Valentine's Day Wrapping Paper or just a Paper Bag
    - Paper Scraps and Stickers
    - Pipe Cleaners

Cut a hole big enough to slip a valentine in.

(Please ignore the hole in the top left hand corner it was a box top)

Next wrap your box

(Make sure that when you wrap your box all the writing is on the inside.)

Find the hole you made in the box and then poke a whole through the paper.
Then folder the paper inside the box and tape it down.

Now you are all set to decorate!

Here is my wonderful decorating mess!

Next take a large needle and poke two holes through the top.

Now you can insert some ribbon or pipe cleaners to make a handle.

Easy Popsicle Drip Guard

Short and sweet!

Use a Cup Cake Liner as a drip guard.  Push the stick through the bottom and Voila less dripage!

I know this might be old school to some of you but for me its brand new and opens up a whole new world for me!

Homemade No Slip Grip Socks

This was another brilliant pinterest idea.  My little girl is constantly slipping and falling on her face because she has some socks with out the no slip grip on them.

To add a no slip grip to your sock simple use fabric paint to paint a design on the bottom of the sock.

Don't forget to put some paper in the sock to keep the paint from seeping threw.

I did about 10 socks for my baby girl.  I will be doing some for Jesse and some for myself as well this is such a great idea!

Crock Pot Chicken Teriyaki

Here is a recipe I got over from  http://www.ringaroundtherosies.net

        Ingredients:
             - Medium - Large Bag of Carrots
             - 1 Red Onion into Large Chunks
             - 2 Lg Cans of Pineapple (Undrained)
             - 4 Garlic Cloves
             - 4 Chicken Breasts
             - 1 Cup Teriyaki Sauce
Split Between 2 bags.  Lay flat then freeze
       Directions for bags:
Add an additional 1/4 cup sauce.  Cook low 6-7 hrs serve over hot rice.

This recipe SURPRISED me!  As I prepared this meal days in advance and froze it, I actually had my doubts.  I thought there was either to much sauce or not enough.  To much garlic not enough chicken and just could not see the flavor tasting good.  I was WRONG.  It was fabulous!  Granted I did 5 chicken breasts instead of 4 and I put in a little less carrots.  But it was delish!  I loved just grabbing it out of the freezer and tossing it in the crock pot to eat later for dinner.  I did not follow directions and split between two bags.  I put it all in a 2.5 gallon bag...  I WILL NOT DO THAT AGAIN.  I had a time getting the frozen goods into that crock pot.  Learned my lesson well!  At ringaroundtherosies they have a list of all different crock pot dishes you can freeze for later.  I will be collecting these ingrediants and have a mass freezing day in the future.  YIPEEE!

Homemade Laundry Soap

 All you need is:

- A Bar of Fels Naptha
- A Box of Baking Soda
- A Food Processor or a Blender

1. Break the bar of fels into cubes.
2. Put about a half cup of baking soda and 4 cubes into the processor at a time.  This will help get everything blended and chopped up real good.
3. After everything is all blended together well, put into a container that will keep the moisture out.
4.You can use about 1tsp for every normal size load.

I use this mixture for everything in my house.  I also add a few squirts of blue dawn original to the washer to help with the real smelly things.  This recipe is good if you are cloth diapering and is considered hypoallergenic.

Recovering after Vacation

I have missed all my little pinterest project so much this last 4 days.  I'm going to try real hard to get caught up today but before I do I want to tell you about my vacation.  We went to williamsburg for the weekend and had a BLAST!  We went to an owner's meeting at our resort where we own a timeshare.  We normally get to stay for free and then they give us a free meal and and some money on a prepaid credit card.  Of course we had to sit through the "ninety minute tour"  but that didn't bother us any at all.  They did help us understand how to use our timeshare better though so that was a great help.  Must people refuse to go on these free vacation give aways but our family makes the most of them!  With all the give aways we received we spent total under $100 for a weekend get away.

Normally we like to go to Busch Gardens and Water Country.  Tour Colonial Williamsburg and do ALLOT of shopping.  But it's the off season where Busch Gardens and Water Country are both closed and we are on a very TIGHT budget.  So even if they were open we couldn't afford them.  I did some research and found www.eatplaywilliamsburg.com It lists things to do by category, price, alphabetically and location.  I just clicked on price and up popped a window of stuff to do that was  $0-$10!  It was wonderful.  They also had icons that showed if it was for kids, a local favorite and if it had coupons for the attraction.  They also had a $10-$20 section and a $20 and over section.  Everything you needed to know for a budgeted vacation. If you are planning a tightly based budget to Williamsburg I would highly recommend this sight!  I will be using them from now on!

                                              Swimming at the resort

I have so many fun things in mind I can't wait to get to them.  The wonderfully fun housework will just have to wait a little while so I can give these things a try.  I hope you enjoy them.  I am going to try and attempt to get them done today!  Wish me LUCK!

Organize Chargers and Cords

I have a corner in my kitchen where there are only 2 outlets but I have a ton of electronic devices.  Therefore I have to unplug one and plug in the other.   Well what happens is I plug in about 5 different cords before I find the one I need.  Lots of wasted time just trying to plug in a device.

Well now I have made it much easier to find my cords.   All I needed was a sharpie and some of those bread bag ties.

I wrote down the names of the appliances and attached them to the end of their cords.  I was worried they wouldn't stay in place and slide to the bottom.  But if you keep them near the top where the plug joins the cord they will stay perfect.

Now all I have to do is grab and look and the tag.

I also had trouble finding the chargers next to my bed so I put some on my cell and my lap top charger cords as well.

Fun With Glow Sticks

FUN  WITH GLOW STICKS

Tonight we had some fun with glow sticks.   We had about five and wouldn't you know that only two ended up working.  We still had fun with only two thought.

At bath time we turned out the lights and threw them in the bath tub for baby girl to play with.  It was really cool to see how they glow under the water.

(The pictues really don't do it justice)

I hated to see the glow stick just be used at bath time and waste all the glow.

So I took a Jar and the sticks...

cut them and poured the contents out inside the jar.  I did this very carefully because I didn't want to be a glowing monster all through the night and there are glass shards in the sticks.

I shook the jar up and took into their room and turned the light off.  The loved it and laid there and checked it out.  When we were down I put it on a very high shelf and let them use it as a night light.

This would also be great when we go camping.

You could also use it as at time out jar where when they hold it they have to be quite.

Or it could be used as a talking jar.  As when you are having a family meeting or your all telling stories the one who is holding the jar has the right to speak and everyone else has to stay quite and listen.  When that person is done they pass it to the next person in line.

"In the same way, let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven."
