New Year's Resolution Ornament for Kids

Today marks the 1st day of my blogging adventure. Since today is New Year's Day I decided to stay with the New Year's theme and put together a little New Year's Resolution craft for Jesse my 3 year old.  Although this particular pinterest inspired idea is incredibly easy and not hard at all to put together it was a little harder than I thought it would be to get things together.  I still have wrapping paper and gifts laying around.  Getting to my crafting supplies was not an easy task.  Never the less I prevailed! After supper Jesse got t put his ornament together.  Since he was only three I decided to do all the gluing before hand.  What I used is:

- 4 Popsicle Sticks
- 1 Piece of Card Stock cut to size
- Favorite Stickers
- Yarn or String
- Marker or Pen

I glued the 4 Popsicle sticks together to make a square frame.  Then I took the card stock and guesstimated  the size and cut it.  Then I went to Jesse and asked him what his New Year's Resolution was.  And being the 3yr old little boy he told me he wanted to be a fireman spider man. After explaining the idea of a New Year's Resolution to him, and tossing some good examples around he decided that he was going to share with his friends and little sister more.  I thought that was pretty good for a three year old.  I wrote it down on the card stock then glued it to the back of the Popsicle stick frame.  Then I let it all dry while we ate our supper.

After supper Jesse's craft was waiting for him in the living room all he had to do was embellish with stickers.

(If you notice I have the String and some Pom Poms on there... that didn't last long at all.  We ended up taping the string and tossing the green warm fuzzies.)

Jesse had a great time and he loved all his Disney character stickers I had picked out for him.  He loved naming them all as he put them on the frame.

His sister Cecily even jumped in to help for a little while and you know what?!  He remembered that he needed to share more and he shared his stickers.

When we were done we put his masterpiece on the Christmas tree.  So in the years to come we can remember his efforts to share in 2013.

I hope and pray that all of you have a wonderfully blessed New Year!  Remember it's a New Year with New beginnings, a New start,  another chance, Anything is possible in 2013.

“But forget all that — it is nothing compared to what I am going to do.For I am about to do something new.  See, I have already begun! Do you not see it? I will make a pathway through the wilderness.  I will create rivers in the dry wasteland.

 Isaiah 43:18-19
